Aljazeera reported that “Scientists are working to determine if enset - an Ethiopian staple - could aid in the battle against climate change.”
As to Aljazeera’s report "a banana on
steroids", which is highly planted in southern Ethiopia locally called “enset”
may be the superfood you've never heard of, let alone tasted, but scientists
say it could be a lifesaver for a warming world.
“The plant, which grows up to 10 metres (39
feet), is a staple for 20 million people in the Ethiopian highlands who turn it
into bread and porridge, construction materials, packaging, cattle feed, and
medicine.” Says Aljazeera’s report.
